Aire Valley Autopaint is proud to support the annual Road Safety Week campaign, which will be held from 17-23 November under the theme ‘After the Crash – Every Road Victim Counts.’
Road Safety Week, organised by the charity Brake, is the UK’s largest road safety initiative. This year’s focus is on the victims of road accidents, aiming to highlight the severe impact of road collisions and honour those who provide crucial support to families following a serious road incident.
Tragically, over 1,700 lives are lost on UK roads each year, and another 30,000 individuals suffer serious, often life-changing injuries.
This year’s campaign will delve into the true costs of road accidents, sharing the personal stories behind the statistics.
Brake is contacting employers, educators, emergency services, and everyone passionate about road safety and victim support to register for the event. Participants will receive complimentary access to various resources and tools designed to enhance road safety awareness and support for victims.
Ross Moorlock, Chief Executive of Brake, emphasised:
“Behind every road casualty statistic, every headline, is a family in turmoil, a grief-stricken family trying to navigate its way through the complex procedures that often follow a road crash. Behind every number is a family that needs our help.
“At Brake, we support families whose lives have been changed forever in an instant. We know that the right support at the right time can change the course of someone’s life. This Road Safety Week we’ll be sharing the stories behind the numbers and calling for sustainable funding and the very highest standard of care for every road victim. We hope you will join us to support this vital campaign.”
Moorlock added: “For educators, Brake will provide resources to help children and young people learn about people who help after a crash, from emergency services to social support. For employers, the focus will be on helping every organisation that employs people who drive for work to understand why we need a robust investigation into the causes of road crashes, so we can understand why they happen and prevent future road death and harm.”
Aire Valley Autopaint encourages everyone to participate in Road Safety Week to help raise awareness and improve road safety. By joining together, we can make a difference and support those affected by road accidents.
