Alloy Wheel Refurbishments

Alloy wheels are especially prone to damage, from minor chips, scratches, and dents to more significant harm from heavy impacts. As well as improving the general look, refurbished alloy wheels can help seal the deal, should you be looking to sell your car. Depending on the extent of the damage and the client’s preferences, we use one of two methods to restore alloy wheels to showroom condition.

Painted Coatings

Our alloy wheels are refurbished to pristine condition using Glasruit paints. The paint finish is then covered with a lacquer coat to protect the paint finish. A painted coating offers improved corrosion resistance but is less scratch-resistant than a powder coating.

Powder Coatings

Powder coating is the process of applying an electro-statically charged dry paint powder and resin mixture to the alloy wheel. Before powder coating the alloys are shot blasted to remove the lacquer layer and may also be chemically stripped before blasting if the condition is particularly poor. The powder is then sprayed onto the alloy wheel and baked until cured. Powder coating offers improved scratch and corrosion resistance and will retain its colour and sheen longer than a painted alloy.
